Downspout flushing: where Oviedo roof water goes next
A gutter is only half the system. If the downspout is plugged or dumps water at the slab, the roof's drainage fails. Request a free quote and we will call to confirm the details.

Why the pipe clogs even when the trough looks fine
Oak leaves, granules and pine needles get past the opening and lodge at the first elbow. Once one wad sticks, everything behind it stacks up. From the ground the gutter may look clean while the downspout is nearly shut.
When we flush a downspout, we push water down through the pipe to move the blockage. We also check whether the pipe is loose at the joints, since a leaking seam drops water right beside the wall.
Where the water lands matters in Oviedo
The St. Johns River Water Management District, in its pre-storm advice, suggests extending downspouts at least 4 feet from a structure. That distance keeps water from pooling along the foundation edge of a slab-on-grade house.
The city notes that its own storm system drains to four basins: Lake Jessup, the Little Econlockhatchee River, the Econlockhatchee River and Lake Howell (City of Oviedo stormwater). Roof water that reaches the street ultimately travels there, so aiming it onto your own lawn first is the better habit.
Backyard water after ordinary rain
Residents along Sweetwater Creek have told local TV that water spilled into yards after routine rain (Fox 35 Orlando). The city said it had not found evidence of an overall increase in flooding there. Whatever the cause, it shows how quickly a yard can saturate.
Downspouts that empty close to the house add to that load. Extensions, splash blocks or a short run to a lower part of the lot are common fixes. We clean and flush; we do not install or replace gutters, so hardware changes are a separate question, but we are glad to talk through what you are seeing when we call.
